    Common online advert sizes

    By Ann Williams | May 19, 2008

The most commonly used sizes for online advertising (banners and buttons) are given in pixels (and NOT as a percentage, a dpi, or in centimetres).

Banners: (These are based on screen widths)
    - 468 pixels wide X 60 pixels deep, OR
    - 600 X 60

    Buttons are usually:
    - 120 pixels across X increments of 60 or 80 pixels down (so, either X 60, 120 or 180 OR X 80, 160 or 240)
    - some websites can handle buttons that are 150 pixels across, but rather speak to the webmaster before submitting any button adverts that are bigger than 120 pixels across.
